“No Longer Silent” presents historical films from the silent movie era set to live performances of contemporary composed sound tracks. Don’t miss this special free event at the MAC, featuring composers/performers Jeff Angeley and Leon Stanley. Their original score will be performed as the backdrop to the one-of-a-kind psychological mystery “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari”.

The 1920 silent film itself features unique, handmade visual art sets and early elements of horror. Angeley and Stanley portray the emotion of its many twists and turns through the sounds of violin, accordion, guitar, and mandolin over the course of its 74-minute run time.

Jeff Angeley is a full-time music instructor, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist performer, and event organizer. His resume includes a monthly traditional music series that’s been running continuously for seven years, multi-year run open mics, free public music instruction programs, multi-year runs of silent movies set to live music, & long run concert series. He uses the many musical gadgets at his disposal, and his broad experience playing multiple genres of music, to make sure each performance is a unique concert experience.

Leon Stanley is an accomplished young performing musician & composer. His live show performances include the annual Music in the Woods at Dartmouth’s Lloyd Center For the Environment, Mattapoisett’s Harbor Days, and the New Bedford Roots and Branches Festival. He’s a veteran of the “New Sounds of Silents” series having both composed parts and performed them to Charlie Chaplin’s classic “The Kid”, Harold Loyd’s “Safety Last”, and dadaist master Hans Richter’s “Ghosts Before Breakfast”, among others.
