Auditions
The MAC offers a variety of plays with an array of challenging roles suitable for a wide demographic.
All casting is done through open auditions supervised by the play’s director. Audition times and dates are posted in advance on the website as well as on other area theater call boards and forums.
Rehearsals usually run two to three hours, three days a week during non-business hours for six or seven weeks, depending on the coordination between the director and the cast. Participation in set and prop construction is encouraged but subject to an individual’s schedule and abilities. Performers are unpaid and all roles are non-Equity.
The MAC Theater celebrates diversity and seeks people of all backgrounds regardless of age, race, creed, or national origin. All are welcome!

Description
A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.
Cast size – 3 men, 3 women
Characters
Abby Binder (lead – 60’s-70’s)
Abby is a retired schoolteacher who is living at the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility. She wants to live by herself and fights having Marilyn as a roommate. Marilyn Dunne (lead – 60’s-70’s)

Scotty (supporting – 20-30’s)
Scotty is the resident aide at Bristol who is a caretaker by nature and works tirelessly to improve the rooming situation between Abby and Marilyn. Scotty is also an amateur actor who plays a role in the haunted house scene. He is enthusiastic, friendly, and positive.
Colleen (supporting – 30’s-40’s)
Colleen is the daughter of Marilyn and wife of Derek. She is a devoted daughter who strives to improve Marilyn’s living situation with Abby. Colleen is upbeat, friendly, but also a competitive prankster. She also plays the Woman in White in the haunted house scene.
Derek (supporting – 30’s-40’s)
Derek is married to Colleen and supportive of her efforts to improve Marilyn’s loving situation. He is a caring, loyal husband and son-in-law who also has a joker, prankster side. Derek also doubles as the Zombie Butler in the haunted house scene and the Masked Man.
Benjamin (supporting – 30’s-40’s)
Benjamin is the son of Abby and is a recovering addict. He and Abby have a strained, distant relationship; they haven’t seen each other in five years. He is a caring son who is regretful about his troubled life and wants to show Abby that he is fully recovered and a good son. Benjamin also doubles as Lewis the sky diving instructor (loud, bold, daring) and as the clown in the haunted house scene.
The audition will consist of readings from various scenes from the script with others auditioning.
