Annual Membership Drive

The Annual Membership Drive is underway at the Marion Art Center.  Thanks to support from people who value the arts, the Art Center enters its 52nd year dedicated to promoting the visual and performing arts in the area.  A unique, vibrant center for the arts, MAC is supported by donations from individuals and contributions from businesses.  There is no government funding.   Last year                                            

 

·         The Fourth of July float won FIRST PRIZE!

·         MAC witches organized the Halloween Parade.

·         The Gallery presented ten exhibitions plus the Holiday Shop and “Art in Bloom” with the Marion Garden

            Discussion    Group.

·         MAC Theater produced “Gold in the Hills or The Dead Sister’s Secret,” A Musical Melodrama; “Sylvia”, an adult  comedy by A.R. Gurney; “Little Women”, “The Pied Piper of Hamelin”, “The Frog Prince,” “The Secret Garden,” “Queen Midas,” Young People’s Theater shows; plus a Summer Young Peoples Theatre  Musical Revue.

·         Special Events included Annie & Samantha’s Tea Party, Gala Fundraiser at the Moorings, and the Third Annual Arts in the Park.

·         Concerts featured That Chick Band, and The Dixie Diehards.

·         Classes in art, music, dance and theater were held year round. Piano and voice lessons are available by appointment.

·         ARTSTART entered its 24th season.

·         Scholarships were awarded to students in need.

 

Membership is open to the public. Dues and donations are tax deductible.  All members in good standing are eligible to participate in the Annual Members Show which opens on Friday, August 28th and runs through October 6h.  Members also receive discounts on theater and concert tickets, class tuitions and special events as well as receiving the quarterly Newsletter, invitations to gallery openings, and patrons are included in playbills and other publications.  For more information call the office at (508) 748-1266 or visit the website: www.marionartcenter.org.
