Annie Giddings, Instructor, has a B.S. in Human Development with a minor in Theater from Wheelock College.  She has been teaching Young People’s Theater classes at MAC since 2000 after many years as a student and assistant teacher here.  She is a certified pre-school teacher in Newton, MA and is Administrative Assistant at ARTSTART, our summer program formerly known as Artcamp.

 

.Young People’s Theater I (grades K-2)

Students will gain basic theater skills through games in a non-competitive atmosphere.  There will be a short production at the end of the term. Performance on May 8, 2008

Thursdays, 3:30 – 4:30, January 24 – May 1

Fee: $135/$150

 

Young People’s Theater II (grades 3-5 )

Students learn beginner and intermediate theater skills through games and exercises that develop creativity, cooperation, imagination and improvisation.  Students will use these skills for a production at the end of the term.  No experience necessary!

Thursdays, 4:30 – 6:00 pm  Jan. 24 – May 8

Performances on May 9 & 10, 2008

Fee: $150/$165.

 

 

 

YPT Advanced: (grades 5-8)

This class is designed for students who have had some previous acting or theater experience (exceptions maybe made in advance with an audition).  Students will focus heavily on advanced skills, improvisation, pantomime, and creative dramatics.  An advanced-level production at the end of the term will be the culmination of this work.  Students in this class should be prepared to put in the effort necessary to learn the new skills and the work needed for the advanced performances on

May 16 & 17, 2008..

Tuesdays, 4 – 6 pm.  January 29 – May 13.

Fee: $165 members, $180 non-members.
